The National Air Transportation Association (NATA) has named US FBO chain Sheltair Aviation chief operating officer Todd Anderson AAE as board vice chair at its autumn board of directors meeting.

"Todd Anderson's 40 years of aviation experience, combined with his innate ability to foster long term business relationships with airports, private aviation operators, aerospace firms and other related organisations across the nation, will be invaluable to NATA's leadership and strategic direction in the coming year,” says president and CEO Curt Castagna. “Partnership and collaboration will be key catalysts for industry advancement as we focus on safety, innovation, sustainability and aviation business success.”

Anderson joined the staff of Sheltair Aviation in its Orlando, Florida location in 2000 as senior vice president of aviation development, overseeing and coordinating aviation real estate development, properties and leasing, governmental relations and business development. Today, as Sheltair COO, he manages the FBO, real estate, development and construction, marketing and information technology departments.

Prior to that, he served over 10 years with the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, starting in the airport operations department and working his way up to assistant director of aviation leasing for the properties department. He also previously worked for the Sarasota-Manatee Airport Authority and for an FBO at the Stewart airport in Newburgh, New York.

Anderson holds a BSc in aviation business administration from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a Master's degree in public administration from the University of Central Florida, as well as a private pilot's certificate.
