Gulfstream Aerospace has expanded its customer support 24/7 technical operations contact centre to its Farnborough airport service centre in the UK, the first such expansion in Europe.

“The Gulfstream fleet in Europe has grown by more than 30 per cent in the past 10 years and continues to grow,” says president, customer support Derek Zimmerman. “We are growing our customer support operations to include facilities and services in the US and Europe to ensure our customers have the resources they need, when and where they need them.”

This Farnborough expansion includes new dedicated mechanical systems specialists supporting the growing fleet. Avionics and cabin communications experts are also being added to the Farnborough call-centre team.

“The investments we continue to make in facilities, people and services are designed to support both our current fleet and the future growth we expect to see in coming years,” adds Zimmerman.

The Gulfstream Farnborough service centre opened in 2020 and is one of Gulfstream's newest and most modern facilities. The 225,000 sq ft/20,903 sqm facility can easily accommodate up to 13 Gulfstream G650ER or Gulfstream G700 aircraft. To support its sustainability strategy, Gulfstream implemented a number of innovations including rainwater harvesting, radiant heating systems in the purpose-built hangar, intelligent lighting controls and heat recovery systems.

Gulfstream customer support's European and UK network includes 26 Gulfstream field and airborne support team (FAST) members. Gulfstream has also assigned a new field service representative in Spain, based in Madrid, to support the company's growing presence and fleet in the region.

Gulfstream customers also have access to Jet Aviation facilities in Vienna and Geneva, Zurich and Basel, Switzerland, as well as to Altenrhein Aviation, Gulfstream's authorised warranty provider in Switzerland and Germany.

Gulfstream maintains a worldwide spare parts inventory of more than $1 billion with nearly $80 million positioned in Europe and the UK.
