Gazprombank takes three Ka-62s for Far East
The flight range of the Ka-62 is 700 km and its maximum speed is 310 km/h. The MTOW of the helicopter is 6,800 kg, while its capacity is 15 passengers. Gazprombank Leasing Group expects it to satisfy customers.
Gazprombank Leasing has become a launch customer for the newest Russian helicopter.

Russian Helicopters, part of Rostec State Corporation, and Gazprombank Leasing Group have signed an agreement for cooperation between the parties to organise the delivery of three Ka-62 helicopters. The leasing company has agreed to purchase a multipurpose Ka-62 vehicle to be passed on to operators in the Far East.

Gazprombank Leasing has become a launch customer for the newest Russian helicopter. The Ka-62 helicopters will be manufactured in Primorye at the AAK Progress enterprise, which is a subsidiary of Russian Helicopters. All three helicopters can be delivered to the customer in 2022. Currently, the Ka-62 is completing a flight test programme and its certification is expected by the end of this year, which will allow the serial production of the machine to begin.

“Since 2017, when the Ka-62 made its first flight, we have done a great job, performed over 250 flights and made a number of design changes to make this helicopter even more comfortable, reliable and safe, and I am sure that with the support of Gazprombank Leasing, the Ka-62 will soon take its rightful place in the fleet of Russian airlines, to fulfil other transport and social tasks,” says general director of Russian Helicopters Andrey Boginsky.

“We continue our successful cooperation with Russian Helicopters, and today we have signed an agreement providing for the possibility of supplying multipurpose Ka-62 helicopters, the production of which is being developed in the Primorsky Territory, for the implementation of medical, environmental, rescue and other missions,” adds Maxim Kalinkin, CEO of Gazprombank Leasing Group. “For Gazprombank, participation in socio-economic projects and the development of transport infrastructure in the Far East is one of the priorities in its work for the coming years. Thanks to leasing, Russian operators will be able to renovate its air fleet on comfortable terms, and improve the efficiency and safety of transportation in a variety of geographic and climatic conditions.”

The Ka-62 is a multipurpose helicopter with a single-rotor design and a multi-bladed tail rotor in the annular channel of the vertical tail. The Ka-62 actively uses polymer composite materials (up to 60 per cent by weight). This has made it possible to reduce fuel consumption and increase the speed and carrying capacity of the machine.

The flight range of the Ka-62 is 700 km and its maximum speed is 310 km/h. The MTOW of the helicopter is 6,800 kg, while its capacity is 15 passengers. The Ka-62 can also carry two tonnes of cargo inside the cabin and up to 2.5 tonnes on an external sling. Depending on the customer's requirements, it can be equipped with a rescue winch and a medical module.
