Desert proves it is hot on hygiene with Safety 1st
The Safety 1st cleaning standard, developed by the NATA Safety Committee and COVID Task Force, provides guidance on facility cleaning, disinfecting and facility operations in response to a pandemic.
Desert Jet Center is determined to offer the safest possible travel environment.

Desert Jet Center, an FBO located at the Jacqueline Cochran Regional airport in Thermal, California, is NATA Safety 1st Clean certified. The clean location certification received earlier last month adds to the FBO's safety accreditations, which also include IS-BAH Stage II.

The certification demonstrates the commitment of Desert Jet Center to its customers and employees by conforming with Safety 1st Clean, an infectious disease response cleaning standard for FBOs developed by NATA. The cleaning standard, developed by the NATA Safety Committee and COVID Task Force, provides guidance on facility cleaning, disinfecting and facility operations in response to a pandemic. The goal of this standard is to safeguard FBO team members, corporate assets and the general flying public.

“The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic around the world brought the entire aviation industry to a grinding halt in a way that many of us were unprepared for,” says NATA senior VP Ryan Waguespack. “As flight activities continue to increase, we felt it was critical to develop and provide Safety 1st Clean for free to the entire business aviation community to maintain safe and successful operations moving forward and to be better prepared for future outbreaks.”

“As we continue to learn more about COVID-19, our team will carry on and implement the best practices recommended by health care professionals,” adds Roman Mendez, Desert Jet Center general manager. “NATA Safety 1st has done a great job providing guidelines to assist in our mission to adapt and offer the safest environment when travelling. The wellbeing of our team, customers and community will continue to be of the utmost importance.”
