Presidential A319CJ steps up to JetWave ka satcom
A head-of-state Airbus is to benefit from the Inmarsat GX Aviation network, following a collaboration between Eclipse, EAD Aerospace and AFI KLM E&M.

Eclipse and EAD Aerospace have forged a partnership with European maintenance organisation AFI KLM E&M to equip a presidential ACJ319 with wi-fi. The solution includes Honeywell JetWave Ka satcom, cabin network hardware and software, airtime and STCs with associated modkits.

This installation uses EAD’s Satcom Universal Mounting System (SUMS) modkit, an antenna mounting system already deployed on A319/320/321, A330, A340, B777 and B747 aircraft.

The system enables communications and entertainment capabilities including VOIP telephony and streaming on-demand IPTV. In addition to the hardware, Eclipse is providing its Aero+ software suite, which allows the customer to manage and monitor the onboard Inmarsat Ka GX network. Operators can configure aircraft communications zones, users and applications and allocate, prioritise and optimise bandwidth.

Additionally, the Aero+ suite offers a passenger credit card payment system, monitoring and security tools, SwiftBroadBand fallback functionality as well as a customisable management interface.
