London Luton airport-based Oryx Jet will deploy Bluebox's portable wireless IFE platform, Bluebox Wow, across its three Boeing B737-500 aircraft in May.

“Whether flying private individuals or sports teams such as the Portuguese national football team, we want to deliver the best experience for our passengers, and with Bluebox Wow we're able to enhance that experience with in-flight entertainment,” says managing director Captain Hamayoun Ashraf. “As a charter airline we wanted a flexible solution that would suit the type of flights we operate, and also needed a solution that wouldn't require costly changes to our recently refurbished interiors.”

Bluebox Wow provides wireless content streamed to passenger devices in any aircraft cabin, including up to 1.6 terabytes of film, TV, audio, games and other digital content. With a low cost of ownership, the system is a stand-alone, portable, lunchbox-sized unit stowed securely in overhead bins.

“We're pleased one of the key attributes of Bluebox Wow, its flexibility, continues to win over customers like Oryx Jet,” adds CEO Kevin Clark. “Whether for charter flights, an expanding fleet or even a mixed fleet, its power, flexibility and portability combine to offer operators a simple solution for delivering IFE where more traditional systems are too rigid and costly to install.”
