Membership operator Surf Air has completed its maiden flight from London to Zurich. Following the launch of leisure routes to Cannes and Ibiza this summer, the addition of Zurich signals the start of Surf Air's business travel offering in Europe. It is now offering three return flights a week between Zurich and London.

“We are excited to bring our unique proposition to the European market, with London to Zurich the first of many routes in the pipeline,” comments CEO Simon Talling-Smith. “Surf Air is all about saving business travellers valuable time, which more than 4,000 US members can attest to. For professionals who travel frequently, we believe that our model is affordable and time-efficient, with the added benefits of flying privately, in comfort and without the frustrations associated with commercial travel.”

Founded in 2013 and already serving 17 destinations from hubs in California and Texas, Surf Air's European launch came just three weeks after the company acquired its biggest US competitor, RISE, as part of a major expansion programme. Its aircraft, the Phenom 300 in Europe and the PC-12 in the US, seat up to eight passengers, and clients have access to valet parking at dedicated terminals.

Surf Air has appointed ExecuJet, part of the Luxaviation Group, as its sole handling agent at Zurich airport. Group FBO director Ettore Poggi says: “As the premier handling agent at Zurich airport, ExecuJet's collaboration with Surf Air is a natural partnership between two companies that pride themselves on offering a consistent level of service to customers who expect the best. Surf Air customers will benefit from the use of our spacious VIP lounge, and pilots can enjoy their own lounge area, both of which are located away from crowds to ensure an efficient, discreet and delay-free service.”
