Blackbird Air Charter, based at Billund in Denmark, is in the process of obtaining an AOC. The application is due to be finalised in September this year, and at that point the company will split into an operator (Blackbird Air) and a charter broker (Blackbird Air Charter).

“Blackbird Air will be operating our Falcon 7X and Falcon 2000S as a worldwide EASA operator,” says CEO Ole Christiansen. “The team will work on increasing the managed fleet, and is already in dialogue with several aircraft owners.”

Blackbird Air Charter holds exclusive commercial responsibility for the aircraft on the AOC and will be marketing and selling the aircraft on the VIP market.

The company is also cooperating with Copenhagen AirTaxi following the EASA single engine turboprop ruling. Copenhagen AirTaxi operates a fleet of PC-12 aircraft for owners, all of which are now available for European charter. As part of the agreement, Blackbird will have exclusive rights to sell hours on the aircraft.

“The PC-12s have phenomenal performance characteristics, are very comfortable and have an attractive price tag,” states CCO Soren Bugge. “I'm confident many of our customers will appreciate these aircraft for frequent short trips. For the clients who require longer trips and great comfort we have the Falcon aircraft.”
