The Greek Air Force has decided to purchase four AS 332 C1 Super Pumas to perform its search and rescue (SAR) and combat search and rescue (CSAR) missions.

The contract, worth 100 million Euros, was signed in Athens in the presence of the Greek deputy defence minister, Dimitris Apostolakis. The agreement also includes the option for the acquisition of a further two helicopters.

The Super Pumas are to be equipped with radar, a night-time search system, search lights, life rafts and a self-contained navigation system. The first two helicopters are expected to be delivered within two years.
