ASL provides aircraft backup to support ASLAB
Both in Belgium, both named ASL, but otherwise unconnected until now. ASL Private Jet Services will now provide support for its ACMI namesake.
Read this story in our June 2018 printed issue.

Belgian operator ASL Private Jet Services has signed an agreement with ASL Airlines Belgium (ASLAB) to provide flight support services and offer a private jet as a back-up solution for the urgent carriage of ASLAB personnel and aircraft spare parts. The jet will be based at Liege.

The contract was signed in the Liege airport terminal by ASL Private Jet Services CEO Philippe Bodson and ASLAB group CEO Hugh Flynn.

Although the companies share a name, they have had no prior association with each other. ASL Private Jet Services is an operator with several bases in Belgium and the Netherlands and a fleet of more than 35 business jets, while ASLAB is a subsidiary of Ireland's ASL Aviation Group, which specialises in cargo and air charter transportation and has taken over the activities of Liege-based cargo carrier TNT Airways.

The two companies are exploring further business opportunities and forms of collaboration, as ASL Private Jet Services intends to develop its activities at Liege, which it sees as a strategic location for business aviation services.
