Guernsey-based operator Waves, which has recently received Channel Island route licences from the Transport Licencing Authority and TCO approval from EASA, has gone live with its online booking system. The TLA granted Waves licences to fly between Guernsey and Jersey and Guernsey and Alderney. Individual seat sales and charters are available between Guernsey and Jersey, while charters are available between Guernsey and Alderney. All options are available online. The system enables customers to book flights by choosing the destination, date and time of desired travel, on demand.

Chief technical officer Jim Rouse says: "Since launching online bookings, we have received an incredible amount of support and positive feedback. The timing has been great; we wanted to hold back the launch until we knew our customers, understood local demand and spent time working behind the scenes with the technology.

"We have used the last few months to listen to the passengers, the public and our staff to ensure that this process is as smooth as possible. It's another exciting step for the business."

Head of customer experience Liam Paterson adds: "It has been a very successful start to the online process. This week, we have flown our 500th flight since commercial operations began. Customer feedback is very encouraging, with many enjoying the personal service that Waves offers and commenting on the ease and functionality of the system."
