Waves' TCO approval enables UK and Europe charter

February 8, 2018:

Caravan operator and technology developer Waves has been granted EASA approval to perform commercial flights into the UK and Europe. The company is based in Guernsey, which is not an EU member state, and it therefore requires Third Country Operator (TCO) approval in order to fly to the 28 members states in the EU as well as the four EFTA states: Iceland, Norway, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. Having passed a rigorous auditing process, Waves has demonstrated that its systems, manuals and staff are compliant, and it now has an added incentive to add a longer range aircraft type to its fleet in the future.

Director of aviation Matt Bisson says: “EASA TCO approval is an important milestone for the company. We have worked with 2-REG, which is Guernsey's aircraft registry and the provider of our AOC, to meet the very high standards demanded. Our approval is now the same as the one required by a large US carrier that wants to operate flights into Europe.

“This is a fantastic achievement for us and means that our inter-island services can be augmented by charters into northern France, an important tourism and business destination for Channel Islanders.”
