Capital Air Ambulance has been certified by the UK CAA as an ATO for type rating training on the King Air 200 series. Chief pilot and MD Malcolm Humphries says: “This important endorsement means that any future non-rated flight crew joining the company can now be trained in-house. This makes both practical and commercial sense for the company as it negates the requirement for a third-party training provider to be involved.”

Capital Air Ambulance's team of instructors and examiners will conduct the ground and flight training at its Exeter airport training facility. The flight training lasts for a minimum of 10 hours and will be flown on the company's own aircraft rather than a simulator. The training will also be available to third party operators.
