Fairoaks, UK-based Starspeed, now part of Luxaviation Helicopters, is set to take delivery of a managed AW139 helicopter early in 2018. The company already operates the AW169.

Commercial director Gary Butcher says: “We are delighted to be adding the first AW139 to our existing fleet of 24 helicopters. Our client selected the AW139 for its performance, ride quality and cabin space, which in my view is unsurpassed by other helicopters in this category.”

CEO of Luxaviation Helicopters Charlotte Pedersen adds: “This AW139 will be a great addition to our global fleet of more than 270 fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters. Starspeed supports our offering to clients of an integrated portfolio of helicopter and jet aviation services from the Luxaviation Group. The continued growth of our fleet allows us to offer our customers efficient and safe flights alongside exclusive VIP charter services.”

The AW139 has a cruise speed of 165 kts. More than 250 customers from 70 countries have ordered nearly 1,000 units, around 900 of which are in service performing passenger transportation, offshore, EMS, SAR and law enforcement missions.

Starspeed has been operating for close to 40 years, providing business aviation charter services as well as instrument rating and conversion training for qualified pilots.
