Ugandan operator Kampala Executive Aviation (KEA) is implementing night vision goggle technology in central and east Africa. “This technology is new to the region on a commercial scale,” says marketing director Isabella Tustanovska. “With third generation night vision goggles our pilots and crew chiefs perform at a higher level than ever before.

“NVG capability vastly increases safety and operational readiness for our crews, and by using the best and latest technology we have a premium product to deliver improved results. Using our proprietary NVG procedures allows crews to maintain a greater situational awareness even if illumination is below 20 per cent.”

The method by which the goggles process and multiply photons enables optimum capacity for limited visibility night operations. This in turn allows KEA’s crews to increase safety margins while performing life saving missions in severe and challenging environments.

“NVGs are a valuable operational tool as we execute night medical evacuations, accident response, SAR and special missions in poor light,” Tustanovska concludes.
