Federal Airlines in Johannesburg, South Africa has added a Pilatus PC-12, two Cessna Grand Caravans and a Beechcraft 1900D to its fleet. Commercial manager Nik Lloyd-Roberts says that the aircraft, particularly the PC-12, are ideal for their operating environment, the African bushveld. “Given the PC-12's performance, passenger comfort and reliability, it remains one of the best in its class,” he tells EBAN. “It has multi-engine performance and single-engine costing, making it a great fit for us.” Federal Airlines provides direct shuttle flights to luxury game lodges throughout southern Africa as well as private charter flights.
