The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) in North East England is impressed with the support it has received from Multiflight's Leeds Bradford-based ATO. “GNAAS provides consultant level pre-hospital care in the north of England, operating three Dauphin N2s in partnership with Multiflight,” says GNAAS deputy ops director Andy Mawson.

“The service we receive from Multiflight is absolutely second-to-none and it is a pleasure to work alongside such a professional and dedicated team that looks after all of our aviation requirements within one company. Pilots, engineers and support staff are all part of the GNAAS family and by having such an effective partnership we have been able to innovate and explore new opportunities.

“Our work is, by nature, difficult to predict; our crews operate in high pressure and often very challenging situations. Nonetheless, Multiflight provides an adaptive and responsive service and will always go above and beyond to make sure we are able to conduct our operations and continue to save lives.”

Consultant anaesthetist and course director Dr Jeff Doran adds: “The past few years have seen GNAAS take a leading role in the provision of training to doctors and paramedics starting their careers in emergency medicine and HEMS. “We believe we offer a one-stop shop for external candidates to come and complete the clinical and aviation training required for HEMS crew certification, in compliance with EASA. Multiflight has been an essential partner in the development of this training. Its experience in aviation theory, HEMS regulations and CRM is invaluable to us as a training organisation and this is bettered only by the professionalism of its instructors,” Dr Doran says.

“The aviation training provided by Multiflight regularly achieves top scores on candidate feedback and we look forward to continuing to develop the training that we jointly provide.”

Multiflight specialises in advanced flight training for helicopter pilots, including instrument, instructor and type ratings at Leeds Bradford airport. It can offer conversions and instructor training on types including the AS350, AS355, AS365 series and Bell 206.
