Two Swedish operators, Hummingbird Aviation Services and WaltAir, have completed their merger and are now trading on the same AOC under the banner of Hummingbird.

Business development manager Robin Ahlman believes that uniting the two companies will lead to a stronger organisation. “As a larger player with a diverse fleet consisting of 19 aircraft, we can offer our clients a more refined and tailored product suitable for all kinds of travel needs, be they helicopter transfer, turbo-prop, light or midsize jet,” he states. “We have a new business develop-ment department, where I work, as well as an enhanced sales team and full-scale OCC department.”

The majority of the fleet will be based in Sweden at Stockholm Bromma, Norrköping, Nyköping and Malmö. All Hummingbird's heli-copters are based in Stockholm, while turboprops, in both ambulance and taxi configurations, are in Norrköping. In addition to this, the operator is responsible for two Citation XLS based at Paris Le Bourget.

Ahlman continues: “When looking for new bases for our aircraft, we always strive to find the most suitable locations in relation to our clients' needs. We do not only focus on Scandinavia; we consider the rest of Europe too.

“The company is currently in a strong expansion phase which means we are always on the lookout for new clients and partners.”
