Airkenya Express has had a PT6A-140 turboprop engine overhauled by Pratt & Whitney Canada following its service on the company's Cessna Grand Caravan 208B EX.

“We are extremely pleased with the reliability and performance of the PT6A-140 in our fleet and the support from P&WC in completing this first overhaul to our high expectations,” states general manager Dino Bisleti.

The engine was originally delivered to Airkenya Express in 2013 and its overhaul is the first since this power plant was launched. During the maintenance, which was performed at Pratt & Whitney Engine Services in West Virginia, USA, the customer was supplied with a rental engine from P&WC Engine Leasing.

Based out of one of Africa's busiest light aircraft airports, Wilson airport in Nairobi, Airkenya Express has been operating PT6A engines for more than 25 years.
