Germany's FAI Aviation Group has taken on four Bombardier aircraft; two Global Express and two Learjet 60s. The deal will make the company the largest business jet operator in Germany with a total of 20 jets operating on its own AOC, and a Premier 1A on sister company Fly Alpha's AOC.

The Learjet aircraft are already supporting FAI's air ambulance business flying international medevac missions, while the Global Express models will be inducted into the fleet in the third quarter of 2016. They will fulfil multi-purpose roles offering VIP charter, air ambulance missions, or a combination of the two. FAI's total fleet consists of three Global Express, five Challenger 604s, nine Learjet 60s, two Learjet 55s and one Learjet 35.

According to chairman and owner Siegfried Axtmann, the company is expecting to complete close to 14,000 flight hours this year, generating revenues exceeding €85m.

“It is a good feeling to be the largest business jet operator in Germany at a time when consolidation seems to be prevalent,” states Axtmann. “With this in mind our primary goal is to continue to be one of the most profitable business jet operators in Europe and so far this year it seems we will achieve this.”
