GlobeAir of Linz, Austria, has obtained an enhanced AOC in compliance with the latest European regulation EASA CAT IR and is now approved for air cargo transpor-tation with its fleet of Mustangs. The operator deployed a team of experts working in collaboration with Austro Control to reach this milestone ahead of schedule.

Bernhard Fragner, ceo, says: “The team, led by Leopold Vecchione and project manager Gerhard Klammerberger, has been fully committed to this project since October 2013. We have worked together with the national CAA to achieve all the certifications and to fully comply with the regulations established by EASA for commercial operators in Europe.

“We have successfully implem-ented all the requirements for daily flight operations, addressing the highest level of flight safety.”

The achievement allows GlobeAir to expand its services and offer air freight charter services to meet demanding schedules. Aided by its 24/7 operations and advanced navigation system, the company promises a safe, quick and cost-effective air freight charter solution, be it urgent documents, valuable goods or critical spare parts.

All air cargo flights are arranged with security and safety in mind, and are complemented by additional land arrangements, including pick-up and delivery services.

As part of this AOC, GlobeAir has also introduced environmentally-friendly procedures for corporate social responsibility. This began with the digital conversion of all paperwork needed on board, which is now available electronically on an iPad app. The company has also adopted innovative navigation technology allowing it to reduce fuel consumption and overall emissions. GlobeAir has introduced performance-based navigation on its flights to provide a wide range of benefits including reduced step climb and descent, reduced fuel consumption and carbon emission, reduced maintenance costs and heightened safety.
